Our Project
Cultural journey through Pirandello's words and Agrigento's landscapes.
This website is the result of our PCTO (Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation), a project involving students from the Tourism and Computer Science programs at the ITET ‘L. Sciascia’ of Agrigento. What is the goal? To combine our skills to tell the story of Agrigento through Luigi Pirandello’s words, turning culture into a tourism resource.
We worked throughout the year to create cultural itineraries that highlight the city and its literary heritage, translating content into English and French, and developing a website accessible to everyone. This project allowed us to discover our personal strengths, develop soft skills, and become more aware of our future aspirations.
Future-Oriented Education
The two educational programs at ITET Sciascia – Tourism and Computer Science – perfectly meet the needs of nowadays job market. This project gave us the opportunity to challenge ourselves in a real-world context, effectively preparing us for our entry into the professional world.
A multidisciplinary project
Thanks to the collaboration between different classes, the project brought together linguistic, computer science, and entrepreneurial skills. We studied Pirandello, explored the territory, analyzed the short stories, and designed a multilingual website to guide tourists in discovering the city.
A website to discover Agrigento through Pirandello
The result is an accessible website, rich in historical and literary content, featuring maps, multilingual texts, and excerpts from Pirandello's short stories. Visitors can thus explore Agrigento through a unique perspective, guided by the words and characters of the author.
Vision
We want to transform culture into a driver of development, enhancing the territory with modern digital tools. Our project demonstrates how schools can educate active citizens who are able to promote their land in an innovative and conscious way.
Mission
Through this site we would like to guide tourists and curious people to discover Agrigento and its beauties narrated by Pirandello. Our mission is to demonstrate that the union among school, culture and technology can generate new perspectives for the future.
